Ground moisture rising through walls due to a failed or missing damp-proof course. Appears as a "tide mark" up to about 1 metre high. Less common than many companies claim.

Condensation
The most common cause of damp in UK homes. Warm moist air hits cold surfaces and creates water. Often mistaken for rising damp — but needs completely different treatment.
Treatment: Improved ventilation, insulation, lifestyle changes
Penetrating Damp
Water coming through walls from outside — often from faulty gutters, pointing, or render. Usually appears as damp patches that get worse when it rains.

A typical chemical DPC installation takes 1-2 days. If replastering is needed, add another 1-2 days depending on the area. We'll give you a clear timeline before starting work.
Will I need to move out during the work?

How long until the walls dry out?
After damp proofing treatment, walls typically take 6-12 months to fully dry out, depending on thickness and how wet they were. The treatment stops new moisture immediately, but existing moisture needs time to evaporate.

Can I just paint over the damp?
